Department of Biosystems Engineering
Department of Biosystems Engineering was founded in 1966. Students of Biosystems Engineering Department take basic and special courses for 8 semesters. This Department has Ph.D., M.Sc. and Bachelor Degree programs. The Department has been developed to deliver education, research and professional training in both areas of machine design and machine management. The Biosystems Engineering option allows students to build agricultural machineries and equipment. More emphasis in technical courses is related to equipment operation and testing. The curriculum provides a strong background in mathematics, basic sciences, agriculture and agricultural systems management courses. The curriculum also allows students to specialize in programs related to precision agriculture, agricultural safety and health, engineering materials, fundamental thermal and fluid principles which are necessary for a more complete understanding of machine systems. Students are prepared to work directly with agricultural related businesses as technical supervisors. They also might manage equipment systems or participate in sales or testing of agricultural or agriculturally related equipment. The Agricultural mechanization program has also been designed to prepare students for careers in agriculture and agriculturally related businesses that require knowledge of engineering methods. Emphasis is placed on the practical application of technology to agriculture. Some of our department facilities are as follow:
